Fat Booty Friday!!!

Image
The number one question I get from a lot of people is "how do I get a bigger butt?".  I never question why this is almost ALWAYS the first question since it took me a little over 2 years to get my current physique.   Yep, you read that correctly, 2+ years.  I was also 5'7 and 140lbs.   2 years later, BOOM What was my motivation for this physique.....to get a bigger butt lol.  I didn't start working out to be healthier or to feel better, I really just wanted a bigger butt which loosely translates to I wanted to be video girl thick.  The video girl thick part never happened but I gained some legs and cakes along the way.   Fat Booty Friday isn't a day to glorify big butts (I mean it kind of is) , but more of a place to find a few simple exercises to give your  bum a little lift, add a little umph to it, or to tone it up a little.   Below you'll find some simple exercises that you can do at home; Donkey Kick...

Week 3 Update: Hips Don't Lie

Day 1: Rest                 Time: 0:00           Weight: 176.7 You all would be so proud of me.  I actually did rest on this day....kind of.  I got on a lateral cardio machine for 15 minutes, and did light weights.  No biggie.  And then, I went home, cuddled with my kid (Sadie), and went to sleep.  Day 2: 3.5 miles         Time: 40:02          Weight: 175.1  Okay, so I had gotten so used to running my little 2-3 miles during the week that I just knew having to do 3.5 miles wouldn't be so bad.  I. Was. WRONG.  I woke up this morning with a little itch in my throat, so I knew that I was most likely about to catch a cold.  I immediately took some Zicam and a shot of Apple Cider Vinegar *beats chest*.  The first mile felt AWFUL.  My body was aching all over and for whatever reason I was struggling to breathe. ...

Day 1: REST              Time: 0:00                     I know it says rest, but I wasn't resting.  I was actually working out.  Like, a hard ass workout.  Granted, I created this ridiculous circuit out of boredom so technically it was all my fault.  The circuit goes as follows:  30 seconds per exercise with a 30 sec. break  Flutter Kicks w/ 10 lb Kettle Bell Oblique Throw (left) w/ 12lb medicine ball Oblique Throw (right) w/ 12lb medicine ball Hurdle Walk Ball Slams   w/ 14lb medicine ball      Back Extensions The goal is always to as many reps as humanly possible in that 30 seconds.  Lordt. I. Was. Dying.  But, for whatever reason I convinc...

Week 1: Lordt

Day 1: REST                             Time: 2 hour nap in this bih Day 1 was pretty successful.  I got ALL of the naps in.  Obviously the rest of this week will be a breeze, right? Day 2: 3 miles                          Time: 34.58 Ummmm, so yea, I died a slow death.  Like, I got through the first mile and felt "okay".  And then I got halfway through mile 2 and it felt like my legs were going to give out on me and my lungs were gonna collapse.  At this point I REALLY wanted to stop, walk a lap, and try to finish. My body was like nah fam  Somehow I managed to convince myself to keep running and just take smaller steps.  I was getting more and more irritated with every step because it felt like I was barely moving forward, annnnd I just wanted to be done.  FINALLY, I finished a frickin' 5k at 7am...

"Nothing Beats a Failure But a Try"

Sooooo, disclaimer: I’m not the best writer so brace yo selves .   Moving on.  So I woke up one morning at about 7am, no clue why I was up that early on a Saturday but hey.  I woke and decided, hmmmm, I think I want to run a half marathon. Me: I think I’m gonna run a half marathon My Body: …..Nah Me: Yep, I’m gonna run a half marathon Body: After convincing myself that I’m ACTUALLY going to run this race I started looking up training programs.   For reference, I. HATE. RUNNING. Oh my gosh I hate running!!! I can barely run 1 mile without feeling like I might actually die. 30 seconds into a mile I want to stop because I can hear myself breathing heavy and it’s just awful.   So this is a BIG DEAL for me.   So I finally settled on the Hal Higdon training program.
